 Dopo un workshop di tre giorni nel favoloso atelier di stampa serigrafica Else (cari Marco, Tadema e Chiara grazie!) esporremo il 4 luglio alla Wunderkammern.

IL LIBRO – “Re tigre” di James Thurber con le illustrazioni di JooHee Yoon
Ne parlano Goffredo Fofi e Fausta Orecchio.
Lo legge Carla Ghisalberti accompagnata dal Quinto Quarto Trio, Daniele Fusacchia (organetto), Luisa Pellegrini (organetto), Ernesto Ranfi (basso e percussioni)
Una grande guerra
In una giungla di tutti i giorni, una mattina un tigre si sveglia deciso a diventare il re. Cedere il potere? A Leo, il leone, non passa neppure per l’anticamera del cervello. Ne nasce uno scontro feroce, in cui tutte le bestie, dall’alce alla zebra, si battono gli uni contro gli altri senza sapere perché, per chi e per cosa. Fino al sorgere della luna che illumina una giungla desolata in cui tutti gli animali sono morti tranne il tigre. Sovrano, sì, ma di un regno senza sudditi.
Semplice e corrosiva, ecco la morale di James Thurber: “Non sei poi un gran re degli animali, se di animali non ce n’è più”.
Una favola del nostro tempo in cui un grande umorista statunitense ci fa riflettere sull’ottusità del potere, maschile, e sull’inutilità della guerra. Riletta attraverso le immagini di un giovanissimo talento che già si annuncia una stella: JooHee Yoon.
Un libro per ricordare la guerra – quella con le g maiuscole – del ’14-’18
L’EVENTO ESPOSITIVO
Un gruppo di illustratori e artisti: Alicia Baladan, Mara Cerri, Mariana Chiesa Mateos, Mariachiara Di Giorgio, Luigia Giovannangelo, Armin Greder, Agostino Iacurci, Giovanna Ranaldi, Simone Rea, Pedro Scassa, si confrontano sul tema delle GRANDI BATTAGLIE in un atelier di stampa serigrafica. Le serigrafie saranno esposte il 4 luglio 2014 in occasione della presentazione del libro “Re Tigre” presso la Wunderkammern Gallery.
Saranno presenti gli autori che presenteranno tirature limitate, firmate e numerate delle opere esposte.

THE BOOK – “The tiger who would be king” by James Thurber, illustrations by JooHee Yoon
Goffredo Fofi and Fausta Orecchio will discuss it.
Carla Ghisalberti will read it accompanied by the Quinto Quarto Trio, Daniele Fusacchia (accordion), Luisa Pellegrini (accordion), Ernesto Ranfi (base and percussion)
 
A great  war.
In the jungle, one morning, a tiger wakes up and decides that he wants to be king. The lion, though,  has absolutely no intention of giving up his power. A fierce battle ensues, in which all the animals, from the aardvark to the zebra,  take part. They all fight one against each other without knowing why, for whom or for what. Then the moon rises and shines upon a desolate jungle: all the animals are dead with the exception of the tiger. He has become the king, but of a kingdom with no subjects.
This is Thurber's simple and yet incisive moral: “You are not such a great king of the animals, if there are no animals left”.
A story of our times in which the great American humourist invites us to reflect upon the stupidity of the power of males and on the pointlessness of war. The story is illustrated by the talented young artist, JooHee Yoon, a rising star.
A book to remember the war of '14-'18 the war with two capital Ws.
 
 
THE EXHIBITION EVENT
 
A group of illustrators and artists: Alicia Baladan, Mara Cerri, Mariana Chiesa Mateos, Mariachiara Di Giorgio, Luigia Giovannangelo, Armin Greder, Agostino Iacurci, Giovanna Ranaldi, Simone Rea, Pedro Scassa interpret the theme of the GREAT BATTLES in a silk screen printing workshop.The prints will be on show in Wunderkammern Gallery only on July 4th, on the occasion of the presentation of the book “The tiger who would be king”.
The artists will be present and a small selection of numbered and signed copies.
